Tim Bartlett, M.S., is licensed in the state of Washington as a Mental Health Counselor (#LH60287144). Tim graduated with a Master's of Science in Marital and Family Therapy (MSMFT) from Fuller Theological Seminary in 1998. He earned a Child Mental Health Specialist Designation (CMHS) through additional postgraduate training and supervision focused on child and adolescent therapy techniques.

Tim's areas of expertise include marriage counseling, family counseling, parenting issues, adolescent and child counseling, depression and anxiety, workplace stress, and trauma recovery for children and adults. Tim is credentialed through a variety of insurance carriers including Premera, Lifewise, Asuris Northwest, Regence, and the First Choice Health Network. Appointments are available Monday through Friday with evening sessions scheduled on Monday and Thursday nights.

Based on Romans 12:2, Tim's counseling approach is to assist his clients with the transformation of inaccurate thoughts, beliefs and self-perceptions that lead to self-doubt, a diminished sense of personal value, and poor decision making. Using a strengths-based model, Tim works together with his clients to identify and activate their personal and spiritual strengths to bring about positive change and emotional healing.

Deb-web2-smallDebra Bartlett, M.A. is a Washington State Mental Health Counselor Associate (MHCA-#60303269). She earned her B.A. in Business Administration in 1994 and her M.A. in Professional Psychology in 1997 from Azusa Pacific University, specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy. In 2003, Debra obtained her School Counseling Credential, E.S.A. from City University in Seattle.

Debra’s areas of expertise include child and adolescent counseling and parenting issues.  She also specializes in marital counseling including co-therapy with her husband, Tim Bartlett.  Debra’s areas of interest are children and adults struggling with grief, loss, marital issues, anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction and boundary/communication issues.  She enjoys helping clients grow to their full potential by offering personality assessments which allow deeper insights to their God-given temperaments.  These often are very helpful in allowing clients insight to understand themselves, others, and how to build “more fulfilling” personal and professional relationships.

Her approach to counseling focuses on helping clients make connections in their life experiences and identifying root causes of pain and destructive patterns.  As clients identify their core beliefs and values, Debra encourages clients to take thoughts captive and change negative self-talk in order to affect their feelings and actions.  Using Biblical truths and principles, she helps clients gain understanding of their thoughts and feelings and how God can heal them.

Due to Debra Bartlett’s status as Mental Health Counselor Associate, she is under the clinical supervision of Paul Barger, M.A., L.M.H.C.  Paul has provided individual, marital and family therapy for more than 19 years full-time in various mental health settings and has been licensed in mental health counseling for over 12 years. Paul is certified by the state of Washington to provide supervision for Associates toward licensure. This supervisory relationship requires that all client information and files be accessible and reviewed by the clinical supervisor. Please be aware that your case will be continually clinically reviewed in a confidential matter within Strength of Life Counseling Services.
